Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill discovered that the U.S. band Family Roots in Wales, the Welsh language has tried his hand.

He, his brothers Nathan and Caleb and cousin Matthew becomes one of the world's biggest rock bands.

Followill, of Nashville, Tennessee, posted on Twitter that his father's 18th Century ancestors came from Wales.

He replied to one well-wisher: "Diolch yn fawr. Falch o fod yma" - "Thank you very much. Proud to be here."

The BRIT and Grammy award winners as Sex on Fire and Use Somebody best known for hits to date has released five albums.

Jared wrote: "Finally found out where Followills came from.

"It was originally Followell and we came to Virginia from Wales in the 1700s. I'm Welsh. Cool."

He followed up the post with: "Welsh and Native American on my dad's side - Followill. English and Native American on my mom's. Washington."

Wales Wales has a big fan of the band by inviting him and replied, immediately north of the Welsh.
